Water Fight!

On Saturday we invited the Staker clan over to help us celebrate Chase's 5th birthday. All you need for some good clean fun is water and some good sports. We decided to have the party in the backyard and have a Luau Splash Party. We had the slip 'n slide, sprinklers, a little pool, water guns and lots of water balloons. Here's Logan having a fun time in the shade with Mommy Megan.

We started off the party with the slip 'n slide and the sprinklers. The kids had fun getting all wet. Chase loves the slip 'n slide!

Chase had fun opening presents with his cousins. The Dads tested their strength and skill to see how far the could throw the water balloons and still try and catch them.

Aria was enjoying the little pool until Mean Ol' Uncle Matt came along.

Matt was being a total menace, trying to get everyone wet. After he attacked my baby and doused me for no good reason I decided to attack him with the best weapon I could find, the trusty garden hose.

Unfortunately Matt got the better of me in the end, but it started off a major water fight. I love this picture of Alyssa chasing Cody and getting him in the back. Michela tried to cut the water off to Mike's hose, but she lost the fight.

Chase was ready for action! Daynen was so fun to watch, he was just walking around doing his own thing in the middle of it all. He could have gotten a bucket of water dumped over his head and he still would have been smiling and having fun.

The water fight got really serious when the goggles came out. It was hilarious watching Mike and Matt fighting each other with goggles on. They looked like Michael Keaton in "Multiplicity". "Hi Steve. I Like Pizza" Here's Alyssa holding her own.

Everyone was trying to get Matt, but he ended up with a hose and enjoyed spraying anyone who was trying to fill their water guns or soakers. This picture of Mike cracks me up as he tries to hide behind the kiddie pool while filling up. Matt still got him. We all did get our revenge on Matt eventually. Toward the end of the party the guys wrestled Matt to the ground while Mindy and I poured ice water on him from the drink bucket. Justice was served.

What's a birthday party without a pinata? The kids all had fun taking turns whacking the fish pinata, but the fish turned out to be pretty tough. We finally let Chase just go at it, hitting it as hard as he could until the fish finally busted open and spilled out the candy.

We had rice krispie treats for dessert and berry smoothies. Yum. Here's Chase enjoying his smoothie. It was such a fun day. I think the "grown ups" had just as much or more fun than the kids. What's better than a good ol' water fight?!
