Memorial Day in Mt. Pleasant

We took a nice little trip down to Mt. Pleasant on Sunday for dinner with Mike's family.  It was fun to visit Grandma's house, but it was a little weird not having her there anymore.  Mike's parents want to buy the house and move down there.  It seems like they will be a long ways away, but maybe it will be more fun to stay there for a little while so we can have a longer visit.  We played card games and the cousins had fun outside in the backyard.

 We stayed over night and helped them with a few things around the house Monday morning.  After that we headed over to the cemetery so we could visit the graves of a few Lowry and Staker relatives.

 It was fun to see the flags lining the roads and all of the beautiful flowers left on the graves.

 Grandma and Grandpa Staker's headstone is the cutest.  On the back it lists all of the names of their kids and it says, "We had the best!"

We said our goodbyes and with a quick trip to Subway we were back on the way home.  It was a fast trip but we had a lot of fun hanging out with the family.

Memorial Day

We had a lovely Memorial Day. We relaxed a bit in the morning, got some flowers planted, and even got our garden going, finally. We also had a fun get together with our friends. We barbequed up some chicken and had a relaxing dinner together with plenty of time to chat and catch up. Later we moved outside to the back patio, bundled up a bit (it was chilly), and roasted some marshmallows. We got a little more creative and used Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Andes Chocolate Mints instead of the tradtitional chocolate bar. I think the Peanut Butter Cups were my favortie. Yummy!

Memorial Day BBQ

We had our friends the Gardaniers over for a Memorial Day BBQ. They are such a fun family to be around. We always have a great time when we get together. We played golf in the backyard as well as soccer and baseball. We ate lots of yummy food and enjoyed sitting out on the patio and chatting.

Aria and Chase couldn't get enough of Aunt Tiffy's fabulous garlic bread. As you can see from Aria's cheeks she also loved the watermelon.

To end the evening we made Key Lime Pie ice cream and ate cookies. What a perfect and relaxing day!
